Skyworth’s “Linux-Based Digital TV Embedded System” has won Guangdong Science and Technology Award

In the Provincial Science and Technology Awards Ceremony that was recently held by Guangdong provincial government, Skyworth’s “Linux-Based Digital TV Embedded System” (TVES will be used for short in this article) has won Guangdong Science and Technology Award – Second Price.

       It is known that this particular TV embedded system is exceedingly creative and all the technologies used in this system are intellectual properties developed and owned by Skyworth Group. Due to the professional evaluation authorized by Shenzhen Science and Technology Institute (SZSTI), TVES, built upon Linux 2.6 core, reaches a new level in security, stability and real-time update ability. Built by applying modular design strategy, TVES upgrades TV’s hot swap ability and its capability to receive weak infrared signal. Furthermore, TVES gives sound performances in displaying HD pictures and human-computer interaction. And Skyworth remains several patents regarding those outstanding features. In addition, TVES system contains tons of cable and HD multimedia TVs, including CRT, LCD and PDP products. Examined by China Caibao lab, all testing items passed with flying colors. Customers review remains marvelous. When put into the market, TVES also made good economic.

       Since 2005, Skyworth Group has won Provincial Science and Technology Awards (STA) 7 times! The awarded projects have covered wide range of area in color TV industry, such as HD, liquid crystal, 3C, math model and so on. The competition for the STA is highly intensive, which indicates that any winning project is highly competitive. In 2009, all 55 individual and group researchers have submitted a total number of 578 applications for this award. And only 1 got the special prize, 29 first prize, 76 second prize and 165 third prize. The fact that Skyworth won again represented that Skyworth is already in the leading ranks of the industry in terms of creative technologies and applications.
